Astrology/astronomy is the oldest recorded science known to man. Much precious space has been given to recording the appearance, disappearance, and cyclical movements of the Sun, Moon, planets and stars in early man's tedious efforts to communicate his history AND his ideas to future generations. Sumerian cuneiform script on clay tablets dating back over 2,000 years BC had texts correlating time (calendars) to the heavenly bodies. Many tablets also displayed some of the same glyphs and characters that we use today in astrology, while others recorded the close correlation observed between earthly and celestial phenomena.

In the seventh century BC, Assyrian Astrologers became quite sophisticated in predicting eclipses and retrogradation of the planets by observing their movements against the background of the stars and constellations. These observations provided the earliest body of knowledge on which the study of both Astrology and Astronomy are based today. However, this was not the purpose of their observations. The astrologer's responsibilities were to provide their priests and rulers with favorable and unfavorable times for religious and social activities, and for the affairs of state. As a result of their efforts, a considerable body of knowledge and astrological lore was accumulated and recorded.

Early man gazed at the planets and stars and discovered that their positions in the heavens and their distances from each other were constantly changing, and that those changes formed patterns which were repeated and predictable. He observed that all of nature in his world was directly related to those changes. Confined as he was to a small patch of earth where even boundaries and limits were unknown, it is little wonder that he began to correlate the events in his own life with the cycles of the planets and the stars, and to seek to live in harmony with their changing patterns and with nature.

Today's man, through the science of Astronomy, uses these same stars to guide him on his personal visits to some of these heavenly bodies. Astronomy also helps modern man to place his own stars (satellites) in the sky. Some of these provide forms of communication which would be as difficult for early man to believe and understand as it seems to be for some Astronomers and others to believe that the ORIGINAL planets can still communicate influences to man today. Since these influences affect only the feelings, and the individual does have free will to make his own decisions, Astrology cannot meet a "scientific test" of "repeated results under controlled conditions". Neither can religion, for that matter, yet most people believe in some form of religion.

Astrologers have been observing correlations of "As Above, So Below" for centuries, resulting in a tremendous body of knowledge. They are constantly studying, comparing, defining, delineating, and recording these influences and their meanings. Today, sophisticated computers make these tasks easier and the information more reliable. Thanks to the diligence of the ancients for preserving the records and to the enormous capacity of computers to store and sort information, today's Astrologer can cast a better chart and interpret it more accurately and completely than ever before.

The Natal Chart interpretations are found by computing the astrological data for the date, time, and place of your birth. Your chart is unique in its combination of planetary positions, aspects, and influences. There are literally thousands of variables in the natal chart alone, and each individual will usually have less than a hundred of these variables in his or her chart. We will print all of those which apply to your particular birth time and place, and they are what make you the unique individual that you are. We try to present this information in such a way that you can recognize and interpret the "blueprint" of your own "Personality Profile."

There will be Delineations that appear to absolutely contradict each other, and there will be some that you cannot believe applies to you at all. Please try to keep an open mind and read the Natal Report all the way through. We will address all these concerns, and more, on the last page.

Astrology is not "fatalism". "What Is To Be" is not necessarily what WILL be. The individual always has free will to make his/her own choices. Your horoscope reveals the astrological imprints upon your personality at the time of your birth. It has been up to you to decide which influences to accept and which influences to challenge. Personal growth results from those choices. Read the interpretation of your Natal chart and look back on your life. Is this you? Was this you? We think you will be amazed!

On the next page, the computer will print some of the basic technical data it uses to find the parcels and paragraphs of information that is printed out in the following pages of this Natal Report. Remember that this data is derived from the date, time, and place of your birth, and is unique in that it applies ONLY to YOU.

The sign which the Sun was in when you were born tends to give you your astrological identity. How many times have you heard the question, "What sign are you"? . . . How many times have you had people identify themselves with the statement: "I am a Leo, I am an Aries, I am a Pisces", etc. . . . Many times for both questions, I am sure.

Practically everyone knows his or her own Sun-sign. You probably have also noticed that most people have heard some simplistic Sun-sign interpretations and they are likely to add, "I am a natural leader--I'm a Leo, you know"; or, "Of course I have a temper, I'm an Aries"; or, "Pisces people are naturally psychic".

These generalities are sometimes accurate, but not all Leos are leaders, not all Arians have temper tantrums, nor, are all Pisceans especially psychic. Even when these simplistic statements are true, there are many more influences in the Sun-sign of each individual and many other astrological influences that affect that individual's personality. If astrology were taken no farther than the Sun-sign, it would be telling us that we are like every other person who was born under our particular Sun-sign!

The Sun sign IS perhaps the most important SINGLE factor among the thousands of variables drawn from when setting up the horoscope. Through the sign it occupies at the time of your birth, it colors your personality so strongly that it usually can be recognized throughout your lifetime. It indicates the ways in which you express your basic energy potential and your creative drive to grow and develop as an individual. It is also one of the major factors from which you draw upon to develop your personal identity and self worth.

You have only one Sun-sign, however, and even if it IS the most powerful of all the stellar bodies, its influences are modified by the house in which it is found and by its hemispheric location in the chart. Its relationship to the Natal Moon is also legendary, and warrants special attention in the interpretation process. Even more modifications can be expected from the aspects of the Sun to the other planets and to the Ascendant and Midheaven, from what "Mode" and "Element" it is in, and by the house positions of the sign Leo, which is "ruled" by the Sun. When you take all these things into consideration you can certainly see that there is much, much more to your identity than your Sun-sign.

However, this popular interest in Sun-sign astrology does account for a proliferation of Sun-sign publications, and one can find Sun-sign interpretations and legends in literally hundreds of astrological books and magazines today.

In the following delineation of the Sun-sign in your chart, we have tried to include those influences that are most consistent in the interpretations of the ancients, the masters of astrology, and the teachers of astrology--as well as those of the many gifted researchers and newcomers in astrology today.

The Sun is in Gemini from approximately May 21 through June 21. People born under the intellectual air sign Gemini are ruled by the Planet Mercury and are likely to think and act swiftly. Key words are mentality, versatility, and nonconformity; and the key phrase for Gemini is "I think".

Astrologer Lewellyn George writes in the "A to Z Horoscope Maker and Delineator" ( Llewellyn Publications, Thirty-sixth Printing, 1974): "In Gemini the Sun makes the native sympathetic, kindhearted, affectionate, fond of home and children and easily influenced by kindness, at times to his detriment. Is sensitive, intuitional, idealistic. Fond of science and as a rule studious and usually endowed with great imaginative ability. Possesses an active mind and can be relied upon to act quickly in an emergency. Is an experimenter and investigator, quick reasoner, generally a good writer; likes to be busy and can engage in two or more occupations at once but must be allowed to work in his own way. Changeful, inquiring, doubtful nature, hard to understand, but versatile, alert, dexterous and skillful. Is ambitious, aspiring and loves change and diversity". (Written in about 1908).

Max Heindel in his book, "The Message of the Stars" (Rosicrucians, 1927), writes: "Gemini is a Mercurial sign and third in the gamut, hence this position gives a blended influence of the Sun, Mercury and the Third house. This favors expression of Mercury for it is the planet which stirs the vocal chords and produces sound in the Taurean larynx: it also favors writings and travel; the mind is brightened by the Sun in Gemini and when it is necessary or expedient to travel the person gains thereby physically and mentally. It gives pleasant, affable disposition which makes him generally liked among his associates."

You are a communicator (I did NOT say "chatterbox!"), and speech is especially important to you. You have a need to identify and classify, for your mind jumps from one thing to another and words are anchoring safety devices which help keep you on track. You are thirsty for knowledge and have a highly developed learning capacity. Your inventive imagination creates a need for education from the time you were born, and could qualify you for professions in writing, research, and criticism. (You can be very good at criticism, however you tend to be charming, interested and interesting.)

There is a dual quality to the Gemini personality. Variety is the spice of life for you, and you are happiest when you have more than one dominant interest. You enjoy your hands being busy, which they are very capable of doing on their own while your mind and attention can jump around to many things at the same time. You have to work at calmness of mind and body and the best discipline to achieve this might well begin by trying to keep your hands and feet still--and to eat slowly. It's no use suggesting that you think slowly, for you are a Gemini.

You are, in many ways, an eternal child. Your mind is bright, alert, curious, flexible, playful, and always eager for new experiences. Your attention span can be quite brief. You grasp ideas quickly and once your initial curiosity has been satisfied, you want to go on to something else. You crave frequent change, and meeting new situations and new people.

You also have a rather light and mischievous sense of humor, and often do not take anything too seriously. Though you crave emotional involvement it is hard for you to achieve it, for you are frequently unwilling to commit yourself to anything, to take responsibility, or to limit your personal freedom.

You may live in your head a great deal (reading, observing, thinking, spinning ideas around) and you need mental stimulation every bit as much as you need food and drink. In fact, if you had to choose between a good book or movie and a good lunch, you would very likely choose one of the former.

You may enjoy great popularity because of your witty conversation, mental agility, sociability, courtesy, and intuition. However, you are ever the nonconformist. You need to maintain your separateness--you hate any kind of bondage, rebel against the status quo, resist authority, and never yield your individuality to one person or one place. You need to work at realizing your relationship to humanity's common lot, and that cooperation is necessary to self-fulfillment. You have the potential to overcome deficiencies and negative tendencies and to reach high objectives in life.

It would be impossible to even estimate the number of individuals who share your Sun sign, but just the opposite is true for your Rising sign. Only those who were born at the same geographic location and at the same exact moment of time could share the same precise second, minute, and degree of the sign upon your Ascendant. A difference in birth time of even a few minutes and/or a few degrees of latitude or longitude can alter the signs upon the houses and the locations of planets within the houses.

The horoscope is a circle, and the whole is made up of its many parts. The well-known Swiss psychoanalyst, Dr. Carl Jung, coined the term, "Synchronicity", for life within the horoscope. Under that concept, the Rising sign represents the beginning of the natal chart as birth represents the beginning of life--the first part of synchronization. Like the horoscope, life is also a circle whose whole is made up of its many parts. Unlike the familiar TV beer commercial, however, we DO "Go around" more than once, and it CAN "Get better than this".

Astrology, by way of the horoscope, symbolically divides life into twelve general areas called houses. There is a sign of the Zodiac upon the cusp (beginning) of each house. Your rising sign (Ascendant) is on the cusp of your first house, and signs upon the rest of the houses are determined progressively from that sign which was rising on the eastern horizon at the exact time and place of your birth. This makes your horoscope as individual and unique to your personal identity as are your fingerprints.

Some astrologers refer to the interpretation of the rising sign as the Mask we show the world--our public image. It is that part of our personality that we feel safe in allowing others to see. It may also disguise those facets of ourselves that we would prefer to keep to ourselves. Consequently, the delineation of influences from your rising sign could very well be descriptions of the way other people see you, though not necessarily the way you see yourself. It is certainly not the whole you or the ONLY you, but it could provide you with a valuable source of insight for enhancing your own self-awareness.

As you read the delineations of your chart, remember we are painting a composite portrait of your personality as revealed by the most prominent astrological influences in force at the moment of your birth. However, for each year of your life, the Sun has touched each point in your chart again. The Moon does this every twenty-eight days: Saturn, every twenty-eight to thirty-one years--and so with all the planets and parts within their own time circle. The ways in which you have dealt with the stresses and supports of your birth imprints and the subsequent aspects applied to your circle of life up to now will help to explain the person you are today.

Some delineations of specific aspects may appear to contradict others in your chart. Actually, there are no contradictions in Astrology--at least no more than there are in the human psyche. We are seeking a blend. It is in the interpretation of the whole chart and its application to the circle of your life that we begin to appreciate Dr. Jung's word, "Synchronicity".

Directly following your Rising sign we will interpret the influences of the signs on the houses (two through twelve) in your Natal chart. These signs are a natural progression from the Ascendant according to the house system used. We use the "Placidus" house system in our work. With this system some houses could enclose a complete sign, and there could be the same sign on two houses, but since it allows for the curvature of the earth, we believe it places the coordinates most accurately to the east and west in both hemispheres.

Natives of Aquarius rising can be so far ahead of their time that they can be considered eccentric. Aquarius is ruled by the Planet Uranus which is associated with electricity, science, inventions, and metaphysics. The symbol is that of the water-bearer to humanity. However, Aquarius is an Air sign in the Fixed mode, the electrically charged air contradictive to being fixed or pinned down--like, who can stop lightening? The natives have a strong sense of freedom for themselves and others and express strong humanitarian qualities.

Other people see you as being inventive, spontaneous, original, and unique. You appear to others to have an approach to life that makes you "different" from other people. You appear to have a strong sense of freedom for yourself and others and to express strong humanitarian qualities. You seem to have an energy that is hard to classify and harder to control. And you CAN be unpredictable, since your desire for variety and freedom far outweigh the traditional security needs that motivate most others. You will take chances, especially when motivated by the desire to improve things for the good of humanity. Your life will not be boring, for there will always be new frontiers for you to explore.

You may be labeled by others as "Far Out" for you can be a pioneer in many areas of your life, including the way you dress. The impact made upon lifestyles by the so-called "hippies" has been world-wide, making the informal and unconventional accepted and commonplace. You need to learn to understand your internal rhythm, since you must have the freedom to be spontaneous. It may be difficult for you to "punch the clock" for your productive periods are not likely to be in step with the rest of the world. You may truly "March to a different drummer" and often "zig" when others expect you to "zag". You need to channel this unique kind of energy in creative ways and there will be no limit to your contribution toward making the world a better place to live in.

If you try too hard to conform to the pace and style of those around you to the point of submerging your unique personality, it will break out in unpredictable ways. There is an especially high risk for you in the use of alcohol and drugs. Your greatest source of strength and stability is in the spiritual realm. You have a strong affinity for metaphysics and the mystical, therefore spiritual attunement is natural for you.

People may see you as an impractical idealist. You are often strongly committed to a humanitarian cause or social improvement. You are extremely aware of the inter-connection and interdependence of all people, and are always relating personal issues to some larger framework. You see the political or social ramifications of personal actions, and you wish to contribute something of value to the world, or at least to your community or group. You are truly interested in the good of the whole and not only your own personal well-being. You probably have many acquaintances but few really close friends, and much of your closeness with others is based on a sharing of common ideals and principles rather than on emotional ties.

Others see you as creative and independent. You do want to make your own unique contribution to the common good. You are at the same time fun-loving, people oriented and friendly, but in a rather impersonal way. You are modest and do not like to call undue attention to yourself. You would rather be loved than admired. You find a great source of power in group activity within a close circle of friends.

ARIES ON 2ND HOUSE--Mars, planet of action, rules Aries, and when this combination is found on the second house of money and worth, the mild, sensitive Pisces can become aggressive and resourceful. It can provide a high physical energy level, and a spirit of competition. Lack of challenge, lack of opportunity, and/or delays can cause frustration and aggravation. The keyword here is patience. Fall back upon the Pisces characteristic of waiting it out--but take care not to completely lose your motivation.

TAURUS ON 3RD HOUSE--The third house deals with the thinking mind, communications, study, travel, and writing. When Taurus, ruled by Venus, is on this house cusp, it indicates a sociable and charming manner, love of the arts, diplomacy, and negotiating skills. You are likely to be the peacemaker. You will probably love to study, to travel, and to meet new people--mailing postcards from every stop. You could be over-indulgent to loved ones. You may not be motivated to physical activities in the areas of "chores" that need to be done. You should watch out for a tendency to keep the peace at any price, especially if it compromises your principles.

GEMINI ON 4TH HOUSE--Home life, domestic affairs, and the parent of the opposite sex are the fourth house concerns. When Gemini, ruled by Mercury, planet of intelligence, understanding and communications, is on the cusp, the home life tends to be a center of activity. The home can be both a base for thinking, communicating, learning, and business activities, and/or a place to retreat from these high mental activities.

CANCER ON 5TH HOUSE--Fifth house affairs include love--sex, children, entertainment, and speculation. Cancer, ruled by the Moon, brings strong emotions to bear upon these fifth house affairs. Feelings can run deep, intuition can be strong, and nurturing and mother instincts are sure to be a part of the natural expression. Children are important to you, both physical children, as well as children of the mind. They are also likely to display emotional characteristics. Expression of emotions is vital to emotional growth, and writing could be one good method of expression.

CANCER ON 6TH HOUSE--Cancer is ruled by the Moon. When found on the sixth house of work, service, and health the influences they provide will all have an emotional overtone. You will be caring and sincere in all approaches to work and service, but you could also be prone to emotional disorders and burnout. You may need to watch out for tendencies to hypochondria.

LEO ON 7TH HOUSE--The Sun rules Leo on this seventh house of marriage, relationships, and other partnerships. This can brighten up the affairs of this house, but Leo is likely to aspire to being the "senior partner". There is leadership potential here, however, and the Leo partner can be very romantic.

LIBRA ON 8TH HOUSE--Venus, planet of love, art, and talent rules Libra. When on the eighth house of death, taxes, inheritance and legal affairs there will be a desire to deal with all these affairs in a fair, sensitive manner. The approach will be from a standpoint of responsibility and justice. You may tend to be a little over idealistic in your expectations of others.

SCORPIO ON 9TH HOUSE--The strong, sensitive sign of Scorpio is ruled by Pluto, the planet of hidden matters, intense feelings, and regeneration. The ninth house deals with philosophy, religion, higher mind, travel, and education. The affairs of the ninth house can be blown out of proportion with the influences of Pluto-Scorpio combinations. These will be approached with extreme intensity and you may need to learn how to lighten up.

SAGITTARIUS ON 10TH HOUSE--The tenth house deals with the career, honor, esteem, profession and recognition. Sagittarius, sign of idealism, achievement, and new thoughts and opinions, is ruled by Jupiter, planet of expansion, "luck", enthusiasm, and wealth of spirit. With this sign on the tenth house, you will find it almost impossible to fail in your chosen career. Honors and recognition are likely to pour in from achievements related to your profession. You are enthusiastic, optimistic, and relish challenges and new goals. This is all likely to be enhanced by a sense of spirituality.

CAPRICORN ON 11TH HOUSE--Capricorn, sign of conservatism, ambition, and organization, is ruled by Saturn, planet of discipline and limitations. When this sign is found on the cusp of the eleventh house, friends could be hard to come by. They could either be negative and restrictive, or long-lasting, supportive, and loyal. There will be very little in-between. You may be hesitant in making friends, and if you are the least bit insecure, you could attract friends who are the same way. However (and hopefully), you will be positive, selective, and open in your attitude toward others, in which case you will attract friends who will always be dependable and supportive.

CAPRICORN ON 12TH HOUSE--Saturn, planet of order and discipline, rules Capricorn. With this sign on the twelfth house of limitations and the subconscious, the result can cause subconscious fears and add to the limitations. However, if you can bring forth the subconscious to the conscious, this can be an extremely powerful asset. It would certainly bolster your self-confidence if you could discipline and "order" your intuition and sub-conscious thoughts!

Astrology recognizes ten major "heavenly bodies" in the Universe that radiate various influences toward earth, and thus manifest themselves in the lives and affairs of mankind. The Sun and the Moon influences are most recognizable because some of them are visible and tactile, such as light and heat. They also provide the base for mankind's calculation of time--the calendar and the clock. Influences distributed by the other eight planets may be less visible and more subtle, but not less real.

These emanations are constant, but the intensity of their influences can be tempered by the sign they are in, the house of your chart in which they are located, and by their angular aspects to each other. We touched upon this in the introduction to the Ascendant when we also introduced the term "synchronicity". In the following pages we will print the individual interpretations of each planet in your chart with respect to the sign it is in, and its house position.

Following that we will print the interpretation of the planetary aspects to each other. Aspects are specific angles between two or more planets that have been found to modify the influences bestowed. Technically, every angle between planets creates an aspect, but some angles are more significant than others.

Astrology divides these aspects into "Major" and "Minor" categories. Minor aspects are used primarily in astrological research and for very precisely directed work, so we stick to the Major aspects in our general work. The major aspects are: Conjunction (same degree), Sextile (60 degrees), Square (90 degrees), Trine (120 degrees), and Opposition (180 degrees). Don't worry that some of these individual interpretations may seem to conflict with others. We look at the whole person, and the separate parts can modify, reinforce, or nullify each other.

We have pulled all this data together for you as it is displayed in your birth chart. This whole configuration can not be repeated or duplicated during your lifetime. Although the earth in its rotation around the Sun each year goes through all the twelve sign constellations and returns the Sun to its natal position, it takes Neptune 165 years and Pluto 248 years to complete their orbits. The planets are constantly moving their positions throughout the universe so that it is not possible for all the planetary positions and aspects to repeat themselves in your lifetime.

That leaves it up to us as individuals to deal with those influences imprinted upon us at birth and revealed through the horoscope. It is our hope, through astrology, that we may explain what those influences are and thus understand ourselves better. We have free will to make choices--choices which can affect those birth imprints in positive or negative ways. Probably no one of us will ever fulfill the "promises" of the natal chart in our lifetime, but hopefully, knowing what the influences are could help us to make some better choices.

The following planetary sign and house positions are determined by YOUR birth data. There are 384 variations of these positions, as well as many other variables, but only 25 of them apply to each individual. The possibility of another person having the same combination of positions is practically non-existent.

The Sun and the Moon are known as the "Lights" and are not planets in the technical sense of the word. However, they are the most visible and perhaps more influential in affecting man's awareness than all of the other heavenly bodies put together. The blend of the Sun-Moon influences, from the signs they are in, and whether they are in aspect or not, are extremely significant to the personality profile of the new life. The relationship of the Sun and Moon to each other by their position, sign, and aspect and their relationship to the Ascendant can sometimes provide us with an extremely accurate mini-interpretation of the chart. The interpretation of your Sun-Moon combination is printed next. Study it carefully--as well as the next three Sun and Moon sign delineations.

GEMINI SUN AND TAURUS MOON--Astrologer Grant Lewi wrote about this combination, "You are one of the most popular people you know. Your cleverness makes friends and your stability keeps them. Underlying the fluency and facility of Gemini is the solid rock of Taurus." That probably describes you to a "T". You have both resistance and discrimination. You have good ideas and the patience to finish what you start. You are a true and sensitive lover whose romance will transcend fickleness. You need comfort and communication in a relationship, and will need to work in a mentally artistic field.

SUN IN THE FOURTH HOUSE--The Sun in the houses represents the departments of life most strongly affected by the individual will and power potential. In the fourth house, it indicates a strong interest in establishing a secure home and family. You are proud of your family heritage, and may tend to have an aristocratic outlook. You want your home to be a showplace of art, beauty, and opulence--limited only by the extent of your wealth and social class. The early part of your life may be an uphill pull, but you are likely to achieve your security and prosperity toward the end of your life. You are likely to have a strong interest in land, houses, ecology, and the natural resources. You may want to dominate your domestic scene, and you need to watch for a tendency to unreasonable family pride.

MOON IN TAURUS--In mythology the Moon is always female--as the Sun is always male. In most ancient religions and cults, the Moon represents the female force which reflects the male force of the Sun. In astrology, "she" bestows her indiscriminative influences upon both male and female alike, though each sex might respond to the influences in different ways. The Moon in the signs of the Zodiac indicates the emotional responses to life's situations. It determines how you are likely to react to external influences and to the actions of others.

In Taurus, the Moon indicates a need for financial and material security. You enjoy eating, drinking, making love, and listening to music. You like nature--the natural world--and want to be out in it as much as possible. You probably like gardening, even to the growing of your own food. You will certainly want a "place of your own", and will probably own your own home. You want family around, and are strongly grounded in family traditions.

You won't enter into romantic relationships easily, for when you do you will expect them to be permanent. If they prove otherwise, you will suffer greatly. You are a romantic at heart, and could be very jealous of a romantic partner. You want to be the recipient of affection, and will appreciate a partner who is stimulating in the same way you are. This Moon position indicates very good parents and children are likely to be important to you.

You are ambitious and are a hard worker. You like the good things and are willing to do what it takes to get them. Women with this Moon position may be more influenced toward the older traditional female roles, but will be just as strong and determined to succeed in male oriented roles as well. Male or female, you are not likely to be a typical "job-hopper"--you will prefer to find one job and stick to it.

Your emotions tend to be steady and you show good common sense when handling financial and domestic affairs. You are likely to have a "green thumb", and are usually consistent in seeing things through to the finish. You are fond of good food and material comforts, and need a stable domestic situation. You are not eager for change from established emotional attitudes, but you should watch out for a tendency towards laziness and complacency.

MOON IN THE SECOND HOUSE--The Moon in the houses indicates the areas of daily activity through which your feelings are manifested, and gives clues to the type of activity on the domestic scene. Second House position indicates that your general emotional well-being is dependent upon material comfort. It indicates a strong need for monetary security to establish a stable home and family situation. You probably have good business ability in matters dealing with food, home and real estate. You need to watch out for tendencies toward unreasonable possessiveness and jealousy.

MERCURY IN CANCER--Mercury in the signs gives clues to the kinds of concerns that occupy your mind, and reveals your psychological approach to making decisions and conveying your ideas to others. In Cancer, unconscious desires can cause you to look at some facts and ignore others. This can interfere with objective thinking and cause prejudice. Your mind will be influenced by deep-seated emotional patterns. Most of your mental processes can occur on a subconscious level, and you may actually learn from "osmosis". You are very sensitive, and may have a tendency to believe that everything done or said is directed toward you, personally. You can be overly influenced by the attitudes and opinions of others. The message here is to think for yourself, and practice getting you out of the center of the universe. The subliminal intelligence is a powerful gift. Seek spiritual guidance to use it well, and constantly practice bringing the subconscious out to conscious thinking.

MERCURY IN THE FIFTH HOUSE--Mercury in the houses deals with the practical affairs that occupy your mind, and shows what areas of activity will be influenced by your thoughts and communications. Fifth house position indicates an intellectual interest in many artistic and creative endeavors. You are likely to have the ability to express yourself dramatically and forcefully in speech and writing. You are fascinated by games requiring mental competition. You will be romantically attracted to intellectual types who can provide mental stimulation and excitement.

VENUS IN TAURUS--Venus in the signs indicates how you express your emotions in personal relationships, and your attitudes toward money, personal possessions, creature comforts, and social and aesthetic values. Venus is the ruler of Taurus, making her influences very strong here. Stability in love and emotional security are important to you. You are loyal to those you love, but you can be possessive and jealous if your emotional security should be threatened. You like physical contact with your loved one, but are sensual in a passive way--you prefer to attract rather than to pursue. You love comfort, luxury, beautiful surroundings, good food, and opulence in general; consequently, the money that makes these things possible is extremely important to you. Personal beauty is also important to you and you will try to make yourself as attractive and youthful as possible. You feel a kinship with the earth, and enjoy the material things thereof. You have a deep appreciation for all things beautiful and artistic.

VENUS IN THE SECOND HOUSE--Venus in the houses gives us information about how you may express yourself socially, romantically, and artistically in the various areas of your life. In the second house, a love of wealth, beautiful possessions, art objects, and personal adornments--in general, all the things that money can buy--is natural to you. You can transform thought into material, objective manifestation, for you know instinctively that "thoughts are things".

In matters of artistic creativity, money, social life, and especially marriage you can sometimes be your own worst enemy. There is the risk of self-indulgence leading you astray into unhealthy, exotic pleasures such as alcohol, sex, and/or drugs. Such indulgence could limit the opportunities for healthy expression, and deplete the finances. There are possibilities of scandal relating to secret love affairs or other alliances, with the risk of practicing or being the victim of subtle sexual seductions. This aspect can cause divorce by gradually undermining a marriage. The key words here are self-honesty and awareness. As with all Neptune aspects, spiritual guidance is crucial.

This is all right, but seek the positive and practical through positive meditation and prayer techniques. You will have much concern for others, are kind and helpful, but need to discipline your emotions to help yourself.

URANUS OPPOSITE THE ASCENDANT--This position of Uranus indicates an extreme need for personal freedom in any close relationship, including marriage. It influences you toward strong individualism and independence. You need to remember others have feelings and needs also, so temper your individualism with tolerance and take your freedom in small doses without cutting all ties.

NEPTUNE SEXTILE PLUTO--This aspect has more general and historical connotations than personal, but in the personal interpretation it indicates unusual occult, intuitive, scientific, and aesthetic abilities. It could generate sudden and secret changes. You need to concentrate on the positive occult powers.

PLUTO CONJUNCT THE NORTH NODE--This configuration provides a special knack for seeing through prevailing social trends and provides the necessary drive and willpower to take advantage of them. Your approach may be very deliberate and calculated in making changes for your personal advantage. You should take care not to over-estimate your power and try to avoid getting in over your head.

Getting together all the information that makes up the face of your chart has primarily been mathematical and scientific--in a word, technical. The computer has used the date, time, and place of your birth to select and print out the interpretations of your Sun-sign, your Rising Sign (Ascendant), the Signs on the Houses, the Signs and Houses the Planets are in, and the aspects of the Planets to each other. These interpretations apply only to YOU.

In interpreting the total Personality Profile, however, we must add two more dimensions to the technical: "Symbolism" and "Intuition". These operate mainly from our subconscious mind. Allow your intuition full play as you carefully study the face of the chart and allow its symbolism to "speak" to you. Often the chart can provide a key which opens the subconscious. If you don't consciously "feel" anything, don't worry about it. Just allow the full power of your intuition to apply, and keep your mind as open as you possibly can.

Now go back and read the printouts again: all the way from the Sun-sign through the aspects of Pluto. Try not to reject any statement--not those you dislike, or even those you like. Note any statement which you strongly agree or disagree with, and mark it for later study. Then add all statements which seem to contradict each other to the list. When you study the "contradictive" statements, try to determine if any of them might apply to you at a different time, or in a different place. Then consider if the pair could modify each other and produce an interpretation that does apply to you.

Astrology is not judgmental--it just IS. It doesn't tell us what is "good" or "bad", it only tells us what the influences are. We give the most optimistic and positive interpretation to that information that we possibly can. However, it has been our experience that often the most valuable information we can get from a chart is the awareness of those obstacles and stresses we need to overcome in order to grow and fulfill our lives according to our own individual value systems.
