Michael Munkasey

Michael Munkasey has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Coast Guard Academy and an M. E. Ad. (Engineering Administration) from George Washington University.

Michael is also a Vietnam war veteran. After spending many years in the service, he worked as a Computer Information Scientist in the general scientific and medical communities, and for the public transportation (bus and subway) industry.

Michael has been actively studying and practicing astrology since 1969. He holds Professional Astrologer's certifications from the American Federation of Astrologers (PMAFA), The Astrologer's Guild, and has passed the Level III certification from NCGR (NCGR - III). NCGR is currently the world's largest organization devoted to the study of cosmic and human interactions. Michael served on the Board of NCGR from 1976 - 1996, and most recently served as "Clerk," their most important organizational position.

Michael has lectured internationally, presented papers at scientific symposiums, written hundreds of articles and letters, and appeared on many radio and television shows. Michael's books include: "The Astrological Thesaurus, Book 1, House Keywords," 1992; "Midpoints: Unleashing the Power of the Planets," and "The Concept Dictionary," both released in 1991. Michael is a recipient of many awards, including the Matrix "Pioneer of Astrology" award, and the Professional Astrologers, Inc., award for the most outstanding astrological lecture of 1992. Michael also holds state licenses which legally enable him to make personal and home loans; sell life, accident, disability and health insurance; sell annuities, give retirement advice, and recommend trades on the NASDAQ. Michael, a former ship's navigator, has a star in the constellation of Sextans (the sextant) named for him.

Michael has contributed a large portion of information in Kepler that you will find in the AstroEncyclopedia. His compilation of data on ancient astrology, Vedic astrology, progressed techniques and many other areas of astrology has benefit the Kepler program tremendously.
